How the connection works

A three-screen handshake.

The connect flow takes you off our site, through SnapTrade’s secure portal where you log into Robinhood, and back. Below is what you actually see at each step, in order.

  1. 01 In PremiumGuardHQ

    Hit Connect, pick Robinhood.

    Open Settings → Connect Broker → Robinhood. One click hands you off to SnapTrade’s secure connection portal.

  2. 02 At SnapTrade

    Sign in to Robinhood. Authorize read-only access.

    You log into Robinhood with your Robinhood credentials on SnapTrade’s portal, not on our site. You authorize read-only access. PremiumGuardHQ never sees your username, password, or 2FA.

  3. 03 Back in PremiumGuardHQ

    Your dashboard populates.

    The connection is stored encrypted. SnapTrade pulls your recent activity. Cycle detection runs. You see your numbers.

Questions we get

Short answers, not hedges.

  1. 01 Do you get my Robinhood password?
    No. The login happens on SnapTrade’s secure portal, not on our site. We never see your username, your password, or your two-factor codes. We only receive the read-only connection that SnapTrade brokers after you authorize.
  2. 02 Can PremiumGuardHQ place trades on my behalf?
    No. The connection SnapTrade grants us is read-only. There is no order-routing path in the access we hold, which means our backend cannot place, cancel, or modify a trade even if a bug or an attacker tried.
  3. 03 Who is SnapTrade?
    SnapTrade is a regulated brokerage-data aggregator that brokers the read-only connection between Robinhood and PremiumGuardHQ. They handle the Robinhood login on their own secure portal so your credentials never touch our servers. SnapTrade is named as a sub-processor on our security page.
  4. 04 How often does the sync run?
    A nightly background refresh pulls your recent activity through SnapTrade automatically. You can also trigger a manual sync from Settings whenever you want fresher data. If a sync fails you will see an error banner with the reason; reconnecting through Settings resolves most cases.
  5. 05 How much trade history do I get?
    SnapTrade exposes your recent activity. For older history, upload a CSV export of your Robinhood account; Robinhood CSV import is supported, and we combine the two so cycles spanning the recent window are not broken.
  6. 06 What happens if I disconnect?
    Settings → Disconnect broker removes the SnapTrade connection and its token immediately. Your historical transactions and cycles stay in your PremiumGuardHQ account until you delete the account itself; the connection itself is dead from that point until you reconnect.
